Energy-Efficient Cooperative Spectrum Sensing Based on Stochastic Programming in Dynamic Cognitive Radio Sensor Networks

Nowadays, Cognitive Radio Sensor Networks (CRSN) arise as an emergent technology to deal with the spectrum scarcity issue and focus is on devising novel energy-efficient solutions. In static CRSN, where nodes have spatial fixed positions, several reported solutions are implemented via sensor selection strategies reduce consumed energy during cooperative sensing. However, for dynamic able change their positions due movement, nearly despite today's growing applications of mobile networks. This paper investigates a framework optimally predict consumption in sensing tasks, considering node mobility patterns suitable model CRSN. A solution based Kataoka criterion presented, that allows minimize energy. It accurately estimates -with given probability-the spent network, then derive optimal solution. An algorithm reduced-complexity also determine total number active improving exhaustive search method. Proper performance proposed strategy illustrated by extensive simulation results pico-cells femto-cells scenarios.
